Loyd Paul Shrum passed from this life on January 19, 2008 at the Woodward Regional Hospital. Loyd was born October 4, 1948 in Dumas, Texas the seventh child born to Jocie Edgar and Betty Jo (Jones) Shrum.

Loyd married Leita Hunter in Guymon, Oklahoma on June 17, 1971. Their union was blessed with four children, Lucinda, LuAnn, Lawana, and Leslie. Loyd lived for a time in Guymon, OK and Clearfield, Utah before moving to Woodward, OK On February 18, 2000 Loyd married Guadalup Dominguez at Woodward. The couple had two sons, Fernando De Paul and Omar Quintana. They made their home in Woodward, Oklahoma.

Loyd proudly served his country from January 9, 1968 to August 25, 1981 in the Untied States Army. He served two tours in the Vietnam War and then served in the Army Reserves where he received an honorable discharge in 1981.

Loyd enjoyed visiting, camping, cars, and watching TV, but mostly spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jocie and Betty Shrum; by three daughters, Lucinda, LuAnn, and Lawana Shrum; by brothers, Robert Edgar and Irven Lynn Shrum; by sisters, Anna Pearl Huckins and Willa Ullrich. He is survived by his wife, Guadalup of the home in Woodward; by sons, Fernando Shrum of Woodward, Omar Quintana of Woodward, and Leslie Paul Shrum and wife Stephanie of Guymon, Oklahoma; by brothers, Raymond Shrum and wife Darlene of Pryor, OK, Henry Shrum and wife Wanda of Austin, TX, Tommy Shrum and wife Marie of Forgan, OK, Jimmy Shrum of Pryor, OK, Floyd Shrum and wife Bambi of Blytheville, AK, Chuck Shrum and wife Roseann of Joplin, MO, Elvis Shrum and wife Carol of Bethany, OK.; by sisters, Lou and husband Jerry Coleman of Beaver, OK, Sue Shrum of Pryor, OK, Wanda Hecht of Pryor, OK; by many nieces, nephews, family, and a host of friends.
