Elnora Lucille Ladd Hildebrand, long-time resident of Vici, Oklahoma, passed from this life on November 8, 2009 at the age of 92. Lucille, born September 15, 1917 in Lenora, Oklahoma, was one of six children born to Jess and Myrle (Burr) Ladd.
Lucille's elementary and high school years were spent attending the Richman schools. Lucille excelled in high school and was able to graduate one year early. She went on to attend Northwestern State College in Alva, Oklahoma for two years.
On May 16, 1937 Lucille was united in marriage to Charles Eli Hildebrand, Jr. They became the proud parents of two children, Myrna Beth and Charles David. The family made their home in Kiowa and Winfield, Kansas for a time before moving to the Vici / Richman area in 1943. In 1961 Charles and Lucille moved to a ranch in Colorado until 1963 when they moved back home to Vici. She remained in Vici the rest of her life.
Lucille was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with them. She liked to spend her free time enjoying a good book or painting.
Lucille was baptized at the young age of 12. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Vici for many years and also attended the Richman Church for a number of years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents, Jess and Myrle Ladd; son, David Hildebrand; brother, Burton Ladd, sister, Juanita Moss, and son-in-law, Douglas Young.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are daughter, Beth Young of Claremore, OK; daughter-in-law, Carmelita Hildebrand of Vici, OK; grandchildren, Dr. Scott Young and wife Pam of Berkeley, CA, Michael Young and wife Kathie of Chapel Hill, SC, Jarretta Huckins and husband Tyrone of Enid, OK, Dr. Jessica Hildebrand Morris and husband John of Las Vegas, NV, Jason Hildebrand and wife Melisa of Mustang, OK; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Young, Raya Young, Kaylee Huckins, Caitlin Huckins, Ricky Young, Hadley Hildebrand and Jack Hildebrand; brother, Jerry Ladd and wife Joan of Vici, OK; sisters, Ima Jean Button and Carol Reed both of Oklahoma City, OK; sister-in-law, Jean Ladd of Oklahoma City; several nieces, nephews, and many lifetime friends.
