At 96 years, 3 months and 17 days, Luella Leone (Titus) Boatman went to her heavenly home February 17, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Luella entered this world October 30, 1915 to Roy and Nellie Titus on the homestead southeast of Bloomfield, Oklahoma. Luella, in her early years, attended school at Bloomfield and later at Camargo, Oklahoma, where she and her sisters were very talented basketball players. They played with a three division court and could only dribble one time before passing the ball to another player. She loved the outdoors, hunting rabbits and squirrels, and fishing, especially with her brothers. On September 26, 1933, she was united in marriage to Hallie Mansfield Boatman at Wheeler, Texas. To this union 8 children were born: Haleta, Wanita, Mertie, Leroy, Jackie, LaJeana, Terry and Billy. Luella worked hard throughout her life at various jobs, from broomcorn and cotton fields, to caretaker of the elderly. She owned and operated the Cozy Corner Café in Taloga, Oklahoma, for a few years. Luella loved to work outside especially putting in a garden each year. She loved family gatherings where playing cards and dominoes were always a delight. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crochet-covering hangers as well as dancing and playing horseshoes. She loved watching ballgames, especially when her grandchildren were playing. She was proud of being a Grand Marshal at Camargo's 100th Birthday celebration in September of 2011. Luella was baptized in her early life and attended the First Christian Church at Camargo. Luella was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Nell, husband Hallie, daughter Haleta and husband Carroll Smalling, daughter Mertie Boatman, son-in-law Ed Poulson, grandson Paul Poulson, brothers Ralph and wife Grace Titus, Casey and wife Johnnie Titus, sisters Vera Titus, Millie and husband Claud Moss, infant sister Letha, nephew Jimmy Moss, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Slim and Thais Eoff. She is survived by her children Wanita Poulson of Camargo, Oklahoma; LeRoy and wife Janice Boatman of Norman, Oklahoma; Jackie and wife Dee Ann Boatman; LaJeana and husband Doug Paulsen; Terry and husband Marty Clem; Billy and wife Darla Boatman, all of Camargo, Oklahoma; 28 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; one niece Shirlene Lewis of Vici, Oklahoma; step-nephews Gene & Bob Green of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; many other relatives and a host of friends.
