Obituary

Maebelle Hanan, the daughter of George and Lorene Meek Rider, was born March 26, 1923, at their home near Arnett. She grew up there attending Sunny Slope Rural School and graduating from Arnett High school in 1940.
On June 14, 1941, she married Clifford Leroy Hanan in Woodward, Oklahoma. To their union, two daughters were born: Beverly Kae and Judy Lyn. They made their home in Ellis County with the exception of a few years when they lived in Borger, Texas. Clifford was a farmer/rancher. They moved to Woodward upon retirement.
Clifford and Maebelle were faithful members for many years of the Church of Christ. Maebelle was baptized in 1941.
Maebelle spent most her working career in the Arnett Post Office retiring in 1992 as Postmistress. She also loved being a homemaker, mother, and Clifford's helpmate for 73 years of marriage. Her greatest joy was her family and she dearly loved every moment spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Maebelle died July 27, 2014, at Providence Place in Woodward, at the age of 91 years, 4 months, and 1 day.
Maebelle was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Marvin Rider, and his wife, Helen. She is survived by her loving husband, Clifford, of Woodward, her daughters, Beverly Kae Littau of Woodward, and Judy Lyn Hickman, and her husband, David Hickman, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Maebelle's grandchildren, Tim Littau and his wife Terri Jo, of Woodward; Tyson and Kate, his wife, of Woodward; Trey Littau, and his wife, Amy, of Enid; Andrea Hickman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Dr. Allison Hickman of Midlothian, Virginia; great grandchildren, Adrien Hickman of Tulsa, Tanner, Tate, Cooper and Josie Littau of Woodward; and Abbie and Emma Littau of Enid.
Also her brother, John Rider and his wife Audrey of Enid; her sisters-in-law, Lavina Mitchell and Wanda Hanan of Arnett, and. Norma Sibley of Denton, Texas, and other relatives and a host of friends.
Our lives will forever be better for knowing and being loved by Maebelle.
