Mansel Ray Jones was born October 25, 1938 in Camargo, Oklahoma to Ray Ezekiel and Myrtle Elsie (Horrell) Jones. He passed from this life on June 19, 2007 at the age of 68.
Mansel grew up in the Camargo and Vici area attending Camargo Public School and graduated from the Vici High School.
On June 9, 1958 he was united in marriage to LaVina Sue Walker at Woodward, Oklahoma. They were blessed with the birth of their two children, LaDonna Diana and Jessie Ray. Mansel and Sue made their home and raised their children in Maramec, Oklahoma.
Mansel worked as a heavy equipment operator and was employed by the city street department in Cushing, Oklahoma. He was a man of many talents, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also took pleasure in working cattle, baling hay and doing mechanic work.
Mansel served his country in the U. S. Navy and received an honorable discharged. He was baptized as a young adult and was a member of the Harrah First Baptist Church.
Mansel was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Mrytle Jones. Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, LaVina Sue of the home; daughter, LaDonna Jones; son, Jessie Ray Jones and wife, Carla Sue; grandchildren, Justin Lilley and wife Crissy, Michal Lilley and wife Tarna, Jesse Lilley and wife Jaela, and Brooke Raylyn Jones; great-grandchild, Lana Lilley; sister, Arlene Creel and brother, Burleigh Jones and wife Sandy; by several nieces, nephews and many friends.
