Marla Angelene Patterson Hornsby was born to Marvin Fergeson and Marilyn (Witt) Fergeson on October 9, 1958 in Perryton, Texas and was later adopted by Keith Patterson. She passed from this life at her home December 7, 2009 at the age of 51.
Marla grew up in Perryton, Texas. She attended school in Perryton through the 10th grade.
Marla was married to William Scott Hornsby on April 15, 2005 in Canadian, Texas. The couple then made their home in Higgins, Texas, where they continued to reside until Marla's passing.
Marla enjoyed perfecting her home and yard, doing arts and crafts, decorating for the holidays and listening to music. She received the most enjoyment spending time with her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren.
Marla spent her life being a wonderful and loving wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, waitress and cook. She spent a great amount of her time affectionately taking care of her grandbabies.
Marla was preceded in death by her biological father Marvin Fergeson and her mother Marilyn Franco. She is survived by her father and step-mother Keith and Sandy Patterson of Miami, TX; loving husband Scott Hornsby of the home in Higgins, Texas; children Christina Banks of Richmond, VA, Danielle Ortega and husband Lewis of Miami, TX and Greg Kirby of Perryton, TX; step-children Christina Hornsby of Woodward, OK, Ashley Hornsby and special friend David Miller of Conway, AR, Victoria Milam and husband Josh of Conway, AR and Ryan Hornsby of Conway, AR; brothers Mark Patterson of Canadian, TX, Jeffrey Patterson of Abilene, TX, sister Patti Beard of Canadian, TX, Joe Patterson of Wichita, KS, and Christopher Fergeson of Washington state; step-brother Cameron Simpson of Dumas, TX; step-sisters Kim Schroeder of Llano, TX and Alana Mowry of Glazier, TX; grandchildren Michael Banks, Jacob Garrett, Kyler Ortega, Hannah Ortega, Emily Blevins, Ruby Miller, Kendra Messer, Ariana Messer, Marley Messer, and Aspen Milam; other family and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for anyone wising to make contributions for the family, has been set up at the Canadian Banking Center under the William Scott Hornsby Memorial Fund.
