Marvin Raymond Kuper, 72-year-old resident of Vici, OK, passed from this life October 30, 2018 at his home. Marvin was born on December 27, 1945 to John Henry and Emma Frances (Acker) Kuper in Hereford, TX. Marvin was raised and lived in Summerfield, TX until 1972. He attended Hereford Public Schools graduating with the class of 1963.
On January 6, 1968, Marvin married Phyllis "Jo" Husmann at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hereford. To this union, six children were born Scott, Amy, Becky, Carey, Kyle, and Dani. The family lived in Summerfield, TX, Dalhart, TX, and Griggs, OK before moving to Vici, OK in 1980. Marvin worked as a contract pumper for the oil field industry.
Marvin was baptized in January of 1946 into the Catholic Church. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Seiling, OK. Marvin was a member of the Church Board, general caretaker of the Church facilities, and known as the "cookie man" by the children. He was also a member of the Vici Lions Club. In his spare time, Marvin loved gardening and tinkering in his shop, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with children especially his grandkids.
Marvin is preceded in death by his wife Jo Kuper, parents Henry and Emma Kuper, one sister Delores Fleming, and two brothers-in-law Sonny Evers and Denny Herrin.
He is survived by his children Scott Kuper of Camargo, OK, Amy Holder of Waller, TX, Becky Gall of Woodward, OK, Carey Henexson of Enid, OK, Kyle Kuper of Vici, OK, and Dani Wood of Ft. Supply, OK; two brothers Johnny Kuper and wife Judy of Temple, TX and Larry Kuper and wife Judy of Amarillo, TX; two sisters Carolyn Evers of Hereford, TX and Lynda Herrin of Temple, TX; one brother-in-law Grover Fleming of Yantis, TX; twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
