Michael John "Mike" Fairchild, born on March 31, 1951, in Mooreland, OK, peacefully passed from this life on June 26, 2024, at the age of 73. Mike was the youngest of six children to bless the home of Emery C. and Vila Merle (Tuck) Fairchild. His early years were spent in the Camargo community, where he was baptized at a young age at the Camargo First Christian Church.

Mike attended school in Camargo and Seiling, OK, before completing high school at Vici Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1969. He continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts in 1973.

On August 11, 1974, Mike married Brenda Eastman in the First Baptist Church in Vici, OK. They established their home at the Fairchild farm at Red Bluff near Camargo, OK, and the South Canadian River. Here, they raised their children, Micah Lyn and Nathan Jon.

Mike began his oilfield career as a roughneck following his college days. He also worked for Jackie Boatman and in 1980 along with co- worker Mike Myers purchased Jack's Backhoe and Roustabout which they operated until 2002. He was also a member of the Camargo Fire Department.

Mike had a lifelong love for animals, starting with a pet raccoon during his childhood. He enjoyed caring for his Limousine cattle, chickens, Japanese deer, and team of horses, which he often drove on trail rides. An avid hunter, Mike especially loved coon hunting and cherished the camaraderie of his buddies, often sharing a beer and a few tall tales.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Vila Fairchild, his sister Merle Harrel and her husband Duane,  his brother Charles Fairchild and his wife Iris, brother in law Ceford "Bud" Castor and other loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Brenda, of Camargo, OK; his daughter, Micah Fairchild, and life partner Roderick Dunn of Thomas, OK; his son, Nathan Fairchild, and wife Katie of Lubbock, TX; and four grandchildren, Emerie Fairchild, Axton and Anden Henry, and Marshall Fairchild. Mike is also survived by his siblings, Bill Fairchild and wife Leah of Mulvane, KS, Pearl Castor of Mutual, OK, and Gayle Thompson and husband Billy Mike of Edmond, OK, along with several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and numerous friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Traditions Hospice and staff for their compassionate care.
