Michael Wayne Merriman, 71-year-old Elk City, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on February 19, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Michael was born on September 13, 1951 in Jackson County, Missouri to parents Jack Kenneth and Sally Jean (Payne) Merriman. Michael grew up in Lee's Summit, Missouri, graduating from school there. After a brief move to California, Michael returned to the Lee's Summit area. Around this time, Michael would be blessed with two sons, Steve and Chris.

Michael lived in the Kansas City area for a time before moving to Elk City, Oklahoma. For over 40 years, Michael worked in the automobile industry, from wholesaling to managing sales. He enjoyed sports and watching his sons and grandchildren in their sports activities throughout his lifetime. Michael was a Christian man.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Sally Jean Merriman; son, Chris Merriman; and sister, Linda Owsley.

He is survived by his special friend, Carla Major of Elk City; son, Steve Merriman and wife Janna; two brothers, Kevin Merriman, and Patrick Merriman and wife Sue; four grandchildren, Collin, Paige, Cassie, and Gianna Merriman; and a host of loved ones and friends.
