Michael Gene Peard, 67 year old Vici resident, passed from this life at the Woodward Regional Hospital on June 27, 2013. Mike was born to John H. Peard and Madie Faye Ivey on April 25, 1946 in Woodward. Mike attended grade school in Canadian, Texas; New Port Beach, California; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Vici, Oklahoma. Mike graduated High School in 1964 from Vici, Oklahoma. Mike married Lavonna McGee and they were blessed with 2 children John and Michell. Later in life Mike was joined in marriage to Colleta Bailey. Throughout his life Mike made his home in Vici, Oklahoma City, and Blythe, California. During these times he worked at Goodyear as a Service Manager, Wade Service Center in Oklahoma City and Panhandle Eastern.

Mike loved the outdoors. He loved to go on long walks just to enjoy the outdoors and the wildlife. Mike was very fond of dogs and loved to keep one as a constant companion.

Mike accepted Christ as his Savior through baptism as a young adult and was a member of and attended the Church of Christ in Vici.

Mike was preceded in death by his father John H. Peard and sister Diana Ferguson. Mike is survived by his mother and step-dad Faye and Fay Puffinbarger of Vici, Oklahoma. Children John Peard of Forco, California and Michell Mead and husband Kenny of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Brothers Wade Peard and Jack Peard both of Bethany, Oklahoma. Step-sisters Teresa Smith of Camargo, Oklahoma and Karen Kuper of Vici, Oklahoma. Step-Brother Monty Puffinbarger of Camargo, Oklahoma. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
