Obituary

Miranda Sue (Baker) Melton, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, passed from this life on June 25, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 39. She was born on September 9, 1985, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, to Douglas Baker and LaWanda (Russell) Baker-Woodard.

Miranda spent her early years in Henryetta, where she attended Henryetta High School. During her teenage years, she moved with her family to Sacramento, California. It was there that she committed her life to Christ, being baptized by Brother Johnny Smith and becoming a faithful member of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.

On October 22, 2004, Miranda was united in marriage to Evan Troy Melton in a beautiful ceremony at Lake Tahoe. Their union was blessed with three children—Hailey, Isaiah, and Zaiden—who were the light of Miranda's life. Together, the family made their home in Sacramento before relocating to Woodward, Oklahoma.

A devoted homemaker, Miranda poured her heart into raising her children and caring for her home. She was a stay-at-home mom whose greatest joy was being present for her children's lives and milestones. Creative and caring, she enjoyed graphic design as a hobby and loved spending time with her family, friends, and church brethren.

Miranda's warmth, gentle spirit, and deep love for her family will be remembered and missed by many. She is survived by her loving husband Evan Melton, and their children Hailey, Isaiah, and Zaiden Melton, all of Woodward, OK; her father Doug Baker; her brothers Brandon Baker of Broken Arrow, OK, Chris Baker of Vici, OK, and Erick Baker of Henryetta, OK; sister-in-law Jen Baker; nieces Cheyanne Baker, Alyssa Baker, Katelynn Baker, and Brooke Baker; nephews Isaac Baker and Matthew Baker; and a host of other relatives, friends, and church family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, LaWanda Baker-Woodard; her grandparents, Vernon and Ellen Russell, and Jo Ann and Dykes Baker; her uncles James Baker and Charlie Baker; her aunt Lauren Baker; and other dear loved ones.

Though her time on earth was far too short, Miranda's legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." – Psalm 116:15
