Monita Kaye Johnson passed peacefully from this life on 13 December 2020 in Kingwood, TX. Monita was born 7 February 1951 in Shattuck, OK. She was the daughter of Thomas (Arlene) Tangney and V. Faye (Charles) Kozlowski. She graduated from Gage Public Schools. Monita graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK where she studied mathematics and education. She maintained lifelong friendships with Dana, Debbie, and Shannon.

Monita married Donnie L. Johnson in 1976 at the United Methodist Church in Higgins, TX. They were blessed with two children Donita and William. They lived on a ranch south of Higgins where they raised cattle for a living, and she taught Math and History at the Higgins Public School until she retired due to illness.

Monita had a soft spot for all animals, but especially loved horses. She greatly enjoyed living in the country, going on walks, spending time with family, and completing math puzzles. Monita was a loving friend, sister, and mother.

Monita was preceded in death by her parents and her brother S.E. Tangney.
She is survived by her children Donita (Andrew) Cartmill and William (Mary Ann) Johnson and grandson Ignacio Johnson and step grandson, Allen San Pedro; sister Bobbie (Nolan) Richardson; sister-in-law Jann Tangney; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
