Nancy Jolynn (Goble) Brake

Nancy Jolynn (Goble) Brake, 75, of Coyle, Oklahoma, passed peacefully from this life on September 24, 2025, in the compassionate care of the staff at Vici Nursing Home in Vici, Oklahoma.

Nancy was born on July 15, 1950, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to Alta Faye Goble. She was lovingly raised on the Goble family homestead just north of Coyle in a home built by her grandparents, Horatio "Dick" and Maude Josephine Goble. A proud 1968 graduate of Coyle High School, Nancy met the love of her life, Vernon Lester Brake, Sr., during her senior year at a drive-in restaurant in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Though her family had hopes of her continuing on to college, Nancy's heart led her down a different path — one rooted in love and family. She and Vernon married on December 14, 1968, and together they built their home and raised their children in Coyle. Nancy's lifelong dream was to be a mother, a role she embraced with deep devotion and joy.

For over 30 years, Nancy served as the cafeteria manager at Coyle Public Schools, where she was not only a hardworking employee but a friendly and familiar face to generations of students. Her warm presence, quiet strength, and unwavering commitment to her family and community left a lasting legacy.

Nancy enjoyed the simple pleasures in life — embroidery, reading, and solving puzzles — and found joy in the rhythm of daily life surrounded by her loved ones. She was a member of the Coyle Christian Church and a dedicated supporter of the Coyle 4-H and FFA Booster Club.

Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Brake; her mother, Alta Goble; and her grandparents, Horatio "Dick" and Maude Goble.

She is survived by her six children: Jennifer Shaklee and husband Lance, Jamie Brake, Vernon Brake, Jr. and wife Melissa, Adam Brake, Stephen Brake and wife Tysa, and Katie Welty and husband Jason. Nancy is also survived by her sister-in-law Janice Brake; brother-in-law Jim Fisher; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Vickie Brake; sister and brother-in-law Donna and Hossein Rashidifard.

Nancy's legacy lives on through her 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 10 nieces, and 11 nephews — each of whom she loved dearly.

Nancy's life was defined by love, service, and steadfast faith. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
