Obituary

N ancy Lee Salisbury, born on September 18, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, embarked on her final journey on March 19,2024. With deep sorrow, we bid farewell to a remarkable soul whose life was a tapestry woven with love, adventure, and an unwavering zest for adventure.

Nancy's heart was forever intertwined with Ohio, where cherished memories of Christmas times nestled in her heart. However, it was the majestic mountains of Colorado Springs that captured her spirit during her formative years. It was there that she cultivated lifelong friendships, notably with Mary Ellen and Orlen Trego, whose little shop in Cripple Creek became a gateway to Oklahoma, a place where she would find her true love.

On May 2, 1978, Nancy exchanged vows with Lindsey Salisbury, embarking on a journey blessed with love and the joy of raising a family. Together they welcomed four children into the world, Kim, Shane, Shawn (who passed not long after birth), and Ben, each a testament to their enduring bond.

Throughout her life, Nancy embraced a myriad of passions. An avid animal lover, she nurtured schnauzers, rehabilitated injured birds of prey, and reveled in the companionship of horses, particularly Arabian horses. Her love for history was palpable, often regaling tales of her mother's courageous service as a WASP in WW2, honoring the indomitable spirit of women pioneers. Her adventurous spirit led her on Jamboree Travelers' trips, exploring the landscapes of Washington DC, Utah, and the revelry of Mardi Gras.

In recent years, Nancy found joy in the sleek elegance of her 2003 Thunderbird, her beloved "Sports car," proudly displaying it at car shows and relishing the thrill of the open road. It was during one of these excursions on Veterans Day 2019, that she encountered Kerry Blueher, kindling a romance that illuminated her days with youthful exuberance. Together, they savored life's simple pleasures, from thrift shopping to delightful outings, cherishing every moment shared.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Janet Cimino, her twin sons Shane and Shawn Salisbury, and her beloved husband Lindsey Salisbury. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience cherished by her daughter Kim Salisbury, son Ben Salisbury, grandson Corbin Oats who she cherished very much and brother Rick Chappell.

As we bid farewell to Nancy Lee Salisbury, let us celebrate a life lived passionately, a spirit unbound by limitations, and a heart overflowing with love. May her memory continue to inspire us to embrace life's adventures with unwavering courage and boundless joy.
