Naomi Ruth Hunter, 87, went home to be with her Savior October 11, 2010 after suffering injuries related to a fall. She was born June 6, 1923 to John and Cleo Fiscus Soliday in rural Dewey County, Oklahoma. She attended school in Bloomfield, Oklahoma for 9 years and graduated with the Class of 1941 at Camargo, Oklahoma. At the age of 13, while attending a dance, she met and fell in love with Loyd Hunter. They married January 28, 1942. Their union lasted over 64 years. They were blessed with their first child while living in Dewey County. The couple moved to the Panhandle area near Elkhart, Kansas where Loyd worked for a farmer. During this time more children were added to the family. They later moved to Goodwell, Kansas where they both worked for the college. While employed there, Loyd was offered a job working for John Deere so the family moved to Guymon, Oklahoma in 1963. Along with the move they added one more baby girl. After retirement the couple moved to the Fiscus family homestead at Vici, Oklahoma. Following the death of her husband, Naomi spent the remainder of her years with her kids and grandkids. She had a love for animals and spent most of her life caring for many different kinds. She enjoyed doing crafts and gardening as well as taking care of her home and family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Loyd; parents, John and Cleo Soliday; son, Robert, daughter, Lillian; four granddaughters, Crystal Dowdle, Lawana, Lucinda, and Lu Ann Shrum; brother, Elsworth Soliday; and a very special aunt, Ruth Fiscus. Survivors include sons, Wilbur and Barbara Hunter of Clearfield, UT, Tommy and Londe Hunter of Guymon, OK; daughters, Reita and Ronnie Mitchell of Clayton, OK, Rebecca and Grant McNabb of Waxahachie, TX, and Leita Andvik of Guymon, OK; 11 grandchildren, Candy Elzey of Clearfield, UT, Rocky and Rosie Hunter of Shirley, MA, Randy and Jessie Mitchell of Hamm Lake, MN, Ricky and Tina Mitchell of Antlers, OK, Ryan and Kathy Mitchell of Clayton, OK, Ronda and Tc Lawmaster of Mustang, OK, Les and Stephanie Shrum and Tonde and Matt Towsley both of Guymon, OK, and Michael, Nicholas and Jonathon McNabb of Waxahacie, TX; 24 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson; very special friend, Marjorie Peters of Camargo, OK, Melvin Murphy and Tony Andvik.
