Ned Maston an Edmond resident, died at the Edmond Medical Center on September 4, 2007. The son of Ellsworth Lee and Naomi Rosetta (Leist) Maston, Ned was born on November 17, 1938 at Harlingen, Texas. Ned attended Dumas Public School and then furthered his education at Amarillo Jr. College. He married Betty Jean Barnard on August 12, 1963 and they were blessed with three girls: Tracy, Jatonna, and Sharla.
Ned lived in Higgins, Texas, Arnett, Oklahoma, Amarillo, Texas, and Edmond, Oklahoma. He worked as a production engineer for Crouch Petroleum. He enjoyed fishing, listening to country music, and watching western and war movies.
Ned was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961. He was honored with the Good Conduct Medal and received the ranking of Specialist Fourth Class. At the age of 28 he was baptized into the Church of Christ in Higgins, Texas.
Ned was preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth Maston and Naomi Walls, by two sisters, Rhonda Moler, and Jerri Pool, and by two nephews, Earnest and Paschel Pool, brothers-in-law, Darl "Barney" Blauser and Billy Dean Barnard.
He is survived by his three daughters, Tracy Bradley and husband Jeff of Bixby, Oklahoma, Jatonna Privette and husband John of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Sharla Maston of Edmond, Oklahoma; by five grandchildren, Kade, Elizabeth, Daley, Jake and Jackie; twin brother, Ted Maston of Dunnellon, Florida; five nieces, Sheila Cooksey and husband Buddy of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Stephanie Cajero and husband Ruben of San Diego, California, Holly Scudder of Mineola, Texas, Sheri Leckie of Alamogordo, New Mexico and Kari Howard and husband Ron of Amarillo, Texas; by seven nephews, Todd Maston of Denver, Colorado, Michael Maston of Ocala, Florida, Casey Maston of Dunnellon, Florida, Michael Moler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jerwoody Moler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Barry Blauser of Austin, Texas and Terry Blauser of Austin, Texas; brother-in-law, David Barnard and wife Ruby of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Aliene Blauser of Edmond, Oklahoma; by other family and a host of friends.
