Nyla Jean Rivera, 81-year-old resident of Vici, OK, departed this life on March 26, 2022.  Nyla, daughter of Carl and Ruth Witherall, was born October 29, 1940 in Meeker, CO.  A year later the family moved to Vici and resided there for seven years.  They then moved to Buena Park, CA where Nyla attended schools at Buena Park and Fullerton CA.  Nyla married, had four children, Gale, Kathy, Jeri, and Shaw and was a homemaker.  She later remarried and continued her education at Ventura Junior College in Ventura, CA. and Westwood Technology, a vocational school in Westwood, CA.  She worked in the medical field until she retired.  Nyla was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on June 28, 2002 by brother Allen Moss.  Nyla moved back to Vici on June 28, 2004, then lived a short time in Woodward before returning to Vici where she lived until her passing.

Nyla is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Ruth Witherall, daughter Gale Whiteside, and sister Darlene DeWitt.

She is survived by her three children Kathy Baran and husband Marty of Camarillo, CA, Jeri Bartle and husband Rex of Santa Paula, CA, and Shaw Fore of Woodward, OK, son-in-law Dan Whiteside of Lincoln, CA; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews as well as a host of family and friends.
