Paul Leon Kauk was born January 4, 1918, southeast of Leedey, Oklahoma to P.W. and Lydia Kauk. He passed peacefully from this life on January 31, 2009 at his home just south of Leedey.
Paul's childhood years were spent growing up in the Eureka Community and the family farm southeast of Leedey. He attended school through the eighth grade at the Eureka School.
On July 27, 1940 Paul was united in marriage to Miss Doris M. Avent in the Methodist Parsonage in Leedey. They established their home in the Eureka Community until 1954 when they moved to their present home, the Avent Farm. Paul and Doris were blessed with two daughters, Karen and Sharon.
Paul's lifetime occupation was farming. He and Doris liked working as a team, side by side, on their farm. They spent many wonderful years together and in 1990 celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Paul enjoyed watching a variety of sports but especially enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play.
He was baptized in the Methodist church and was a longtime member of the Leedey United Methodist Church.
Those family members preceding him in death are his wife, Doris; parents, P.W. and Lydia Kauk; brothers, Buddy Kauk and Ervin Kauk and wife Lorene; grandson, Jason Harrel; and granddaughter, Susan Ringer-Slane.
Surviving family members include daughters, Karen Harrel and husband G.W. of Leedey, Oklahoma and Sharon Ringer and husband Kenneth of Edmond, Oklahoma; brother, Roy Kauk and wife Jesse of Butler, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Celo, Misti, Sydney; great-grandchildren, Meagan, Brooke, C.J., Jacob, Joshua, and Jacee Harrel, Brendon and Christopher Goldston, and Dillon and Seth Slane; several nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
