Paul Edwin Kibbe (PK)
May 28, 1930 - May 23, 2026
Paul Edwin Kibbe, longtime resident of the Arnett, Oklahoma community, passed away from his earthly life on May 23, 2026. He was five days from his 96th birthday. Paul was born May 28, 1930, at Osage City, Kansas, to Walter Henry and Eva Dollie (Lyles) Kibbe.
Paul was raised east of Arnett. He grew up with his brother and sister. Paul’s father passed away when he was 11 years old. Him, his mother, brother and sister worked together as a family to meet the needs of their family. This commitment and work ethic continued throughout his life. Paul became a member of the First Christian Church of Arnett at an early age. He attended Arnett Public Schools.
On July 4, 1956, Paul was united in marriage to Martha Mae Shirley.
Paul and Martha would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this summer, July 4, 2026. Paul was blessed with the birth of four sons, Roy Edward, Richard Paul, Larry Wayne, and Tony Ray Kibbe.
Paul loved spending time camping with his family and exploring new lakes. He leaves a legacy of hard work and doing the job right the first time. One of the things he taught his sons was - “If a job is worth doing it is worth doing right.” (His way Ha Ha)
Paul’s main professional focus for his career was centered around the trucking business. Paul was not only an owner operator he also was recruited to manage and develop two different trucking companies. He hauled or transported wheat, fertilizer, potatoes, onions, watermelons, jet fuel and crude oil to name a few. He had a gift of coming up with a plan of action when nothing else seemed to work.
Paul never quit. Even at the end, this no quitting ethic was present. He was planning on leaving the hospital and coming back home to celebrate his birthday. We all celebrated his birthday each Saturday on Memorial Weekend. He always looked forward to this and other holidays when his family gathered together.
As long as he was able, Paul would go to the coffee shop to share his wisdom and big smile each and every morning. He would get there so early that he had to go through the kitchen. He enjoyed his time with his friends very much.
Paul was preceded in death by the following: sister Daisy Pearl Kibbe; parents Walter & Eva Kibbe; brother & sister-in-law Orval & Betty Kibbe; sister & brother-in-law Bernice & Cecile McGuire; brother-in-law Sid Shirley; brother-in-law Jim Jones; son Roy Kibbe; grandson Gregory Paul Kibbe; nephew Randy Kibbe; great nephew: Shane Kibbe.
Paul’s legacy and memory will never be forgotten by his wife Martha Kibbe of the home, son Rick & wife Ladena Kibbe, of Catoosa, OK, son Larry & wife Karla Kibbe of Weatherford, OK, and son: Tony Ray Kibbe, of Arnett, OK. Paul is survived by his 10 grandchildren, 26, great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Paul Kibbe, Husband, Dad, Papa, Uncle and Friend will be greatly missed.
