Pearl Pauline Borden, 84 year old Taloga resident died Friday, September 10, 2010 in a car accident. A service for Pauline will be held on Tuesday, September 14 at 10:30 a.m. at The First Christian Church of Taloga with Pastor Allan Patterson and Pastor Gwen Rutz officiating. A dinner will be held at The Taloga Christian Church following the church service in the fellowship hall for family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 14 at The Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be at the Shaw Funeral Home in Taloga on---. The family suggests that donations be made to The First Christian Church of Taloga.

Pearl Pauline Zeiber, the daughter of Wilson Frederick and Eula Stidham Zeiber was born at home in Taloga on October 22, 1925. She lived on a farm SE of Taloga throughout her childhood and most of her adult life. She attended Fairview Elementary School until 8th grade and then Taloga High School. While attending high school, she lived with grandparents Foxie and Ma Stidham. Pauline was married to Donald Cox from 1939 to 1953 and lived on the family farm. To this union were born two children: Ronald Gene and Donna Kay. Pauline worked as a waitress at the Taloga Café while Don served in World War II. On January 14, 1955, Pauline was married to James Carroll Borden. Their marriage created a family of eight children. Pauline was blessed with three stepchildren: Deanna, Linda and James Carroll. To this union three children were born: Deborah Carol, Brenda Lou and Gary Ivan. Jim and Pauline made their family home in Taloga on the farm until Jim retired in 1980, and they moved to Woodward. On December 5, 1982, Jim was taken to be with the Lord. Pauline lived in Woodward until 2002 and then returned to the family farm in Taloga until her death.

Pauline was a member of The First Christian Church of Taloga where she was baptized. As a young homemaker, she enjoyed Extension Homemakers Club where she won state and county awards in sewing and baking. She also volunteered with The Willing Workers at The First Christian Church of Taloga. Throughout her adult life, she took joy in playing cards with friends at the Just For Fun Pitch Club. While living in Woodward, she liked going to the Senior Citizens where she made many life long friends. One of her favorite activities at the center was square dancing. She was also a Pink Lady volunteer at the Woodward Hospital. After returning to Taloga, she looked forward to spending time with her best friend, Loitz, on her weekly trip to Woodward. She was also passionate about farming and ranching throughout her life. One of her favorite pastimes was riding around on the ranch with her family and holidays with her children and grandchildren. Pauline believed that the lives of her children were her first and foremost blessing.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Wilson and Eula Zeiber, her husband James Borden, a daughter Donna Thomsen, a step-daughter Deanna Miller, a grandson Paul Thomsen, two son-in-laws Neil White and John Thomsen, and her brother-in-laws Durward Borden and Milo Oakley.

Survivors include her children Ronald Gene Cox and wife Joy of Oklahoma City, Deborah Keeton and husband Chris of Mooreland, Brenda Irwin and husband Grant of Oklahoma City, Gary Borden and wife Dora of Taloga; stepchildren Linda Starbuck and husband Ray of Clovis, New Mexico, Jim Borden and wife Joann of Vici; She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Other survivors include a sister Georgene Oakley of Tulsa; a sister-in-law Onieta Borden of Woodward, and many nieces and nephews. She also had a very special friend for many years Loitz Myers of Woodward.
