Mahoma Pauline Trimble was born to Glenn William and Tivie Catherine (VanPool) Trimble on November 15, 1915, in Vici, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on February 23, 2009, in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 93 years, 3 months, and 8 days
Pauline was raised in Vici and graduated from Vici High School with the Class of 1932. After attending business school, she returned to Vici to work for her father at the Bank of Vici where she remained a stock holder and served on the Board of Directors. She was accepted as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in 1935. Shortly thereafter, Pauline returned to Oklahoma City where she was employed by the Federal Government in the Income Tax Division. While working with her Aunt Mahoma VanPool, Pauline was introduced to James T. Jones, Jr. of Oklahoma City. On November 17, 1938, they eloped. The following morning she wrote a letter to her parents telling them of her marriage, assuring them that they would like the wedding dress they bought her! She continued to work for the government for several more years.
On December 18, 1949, James Tignal Jones III was born. With the arrival of Little Jimmy, Pauline became very actively involved with his education. She served as a Room Mother for several years. Pauline remained busy through the years. She assisted her husband, Jimmie, with his real estate adventures after his retirement from the Federal Aviation Administration.
After the loss of her husband, James T. Jones, Jr. and her best friend, Delaphine Campbell, her family finally convinced her that a move back home was necessary. In 2004, Pauline returned to Vici. Due to declining health, Pauline was surrounded with many wonderful caregivers, which enabled her to remain in her own home.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn William and Tivie Catherine Trimble, husband, James T. Jones, Jr., brother, Glenn W. Trimble, Jr, sisters-in-law, Mildred 'Midge' A. Trimble and Flora Mae Clem Trimble.
She is survived by her son, James T. Jones III of Tahlequah, OK; one aunt, Margaret VanPool of Piedmont, OK; one nephew, David G. Trimble and wife Jan, of Vici, OK; one niece, Lorri P. Dennett and husband Travis, of Vici, OK; two great nephews, Keegan G. and Kamron D. Trimble; one great niece, Kendra G. Trimble; four cousins, Marsha Zachary, Blanche Trimble, Francis McLoud, and Golda Trimble.
Pauline's family is deeply appreciative of the love and dedication shown by all of her caregivers.
