Mildred "Penny" Condren, 83 year old Taloga resident, passed from this life on Sunday, March 18, 2012, in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Memorial services will be held in the First Christian Church of Taloga with Pastor Allan Patterson officiating. Services are under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home of Taloga.
Penny was born on January 23, 1929 in May, Oklahoma to Carl and Hazel Leist. She was raised in Liberal, Kansas and graduated from Liberal Public Schools. Penny was united in marriage to Jack J. Condren on June 29, 1948 in Wheeler, Texas. The couple made their home in Texhoma and Woodward, Oklahoma before moving to Taloga in 1980. They were blessed with four children, Jackie Ray, Joan, Debra and Mark.
Penny worked for General Telephone Company for a number of years. She was a loving mother who devoted her life to raising her children and teaching them the important things of life.
Penny loved fishing, the Dallas Cowboys, playing games with family and friends, the senior citizens group, and tending to her flower beds. She truly enjoyed outings with her friends the "Golden Girls." Penny was a long-time member of the Women of the Moose Lodge. She was also a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Taloga and was a member of the Willing Workers.
Penny was preceded in death by her husband Jack Condren, parents Carl and Hazel Leist, son Jackie Ray Condren, sister Marcella Hogard, brother Ray Leist and grandson Jerry Ray Aldridge.
She is survived by her children, Joan Crites and husband Barry of Amarillo, Texas, Debra Schmidt and husband Howard of Yukon, Oklahoma and Mark Condren and wife Gina of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Chris Seal, Casey Seal, Sammie Seal, Brandon Jones, Brittany Eiseaman and Jack Taylor Condren; great-grandchildren Rylie Seal, Kyler Seal, Josie Jones and Hannah Aldridge, other family and a lifetime of friends.
