Raymond J. Baumgartner, 89 year old Woodward, OK. resident,  passed from this life on April 20, 2022.  He was born January 8, 1933 in Beaver, OK. and was one of four children born to Henry and Esther (Shiner) Baumgartner.  Raymond grew up in the Laverne community and graduated from Laverne High School in 1951. May 3, 1955 Raymond began a tour in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Spec. 3.  He was honorably discharged from active military service in 1957 and completed his reserve obligation on May 3, 1963.

In Woodward, OK. on October 1 1961, Raymond was united in marriage to Etta Gifford.  Their home was blessed with two daughters, Teresa and Carol and a son Henry Lee.  Raymond and Etta shared over 60 years together.  Raymond worked as an auto body repair man, but his true calling and greatest enjoyment came from being a farmer.  It isn't the FARM that makes a FARMER it's the LOVE, HARD WORK and CHARACTER.

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Esther, his son Henry Lee, his siblings Leila Herzer, Evelyn Hillmeyer and Edwin Baumgartner and other loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Etta of Woodward, OK., daughters Teresa and husband Gary Parsons of Enid, OK. and Carol and husband Steve Schmitz of Laverne, OK.  Four grandchildren Leila Imoe and husband Joshua of Little Axe, OK., Virginia Jackson and husband Damon of Chardon, OH., Ashley Schmitz and fiancée Eric Boehs of Woodward, OK., Austin Schmitz and wife Kylah of Woodward, OK.  Ten great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
