Raymond L. Spurgin, age 67, died Sunday May 31, 2015 in Shattuck, OK. He was born on September 11, 1947 to Joseph and Betty Spurgin in Woodward, OK. On June 6, 1972, he married Melanie (King) in Pratt, KS. Raymond was a Veteran of the US Army, serving two tours in Vietnam. Raymond was also an avid joke teller and there was not a blonde joke he did not know.
He is survived by his two sons James (Elyssa) Spurgin of Pratt and Matt (Sabrina) Spurgin of Shattuck, OK. Sister JoAnn (Clarence) Combs of Turpin, OK also survived by his four grandchildren: Kinzie, Kedric, Thomas, and Abbigail.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, wife Melanie, a brother Dale, a sister Anita, and everyone else who died before May 31st. Graveside service will be Saturday, June 6th at Greenlawn Cemetary, Pratt, KS with Pastor Matthew Spurgin officiating.
