Richard Ora Mann, longtime Shattuck resident passed from this life on December 31, 2008 at the age of 87. Richard was born in Shattuck on August 22, 1921 to George and Addie (Thompson) Mann.

Richard was inducted into the in the U.S. Army in October 1942, serving in World War II. He was honorably discharge in January, 1944.

Richard moved to Florida for a few years before making his permanent residence in Shattuck. He was employed by the City of Shattuck. When not working he liked to spend his free time at the local fishing hole.

Those preceding him in death are his parents, George and Addie Mann; daughter, Betty Jean Mann; brothers, Wesley, Albert and Orville Mann; sister, Ethel; and nephew, Russel. Survivors include nephews, LeRoy Mann and George Mann; nieces, Ruby Smart and Alberta Baird; by 7 great nieces, 7 great nephews, 24 great great nieces and nephews and 2 great great great nieces.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 4, 2008 at the Shattuck Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home of Shattuck. Condolences may be made at shawfuneralhome.net.
