Rick Leon Jennings, 58 year old of Vici, passed from this life on February 25, 2017. He was born on September 11, 1958 to Edward and Jaunita Jennings in Tahlequah, OK. He was raised in the area where he attended Tenkiller Public Schools and later Tahlequah High School, graduating with the Class of 1976. He then served in the United States Navy where he served honorably from 1978-1981 aboard the USS Bronstein. On August 22, 1987, he was married to the love of his life Iva Lee Morris at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Vici, OK, and to this union five children Sheri, Matthew, Emily, Mikahla, and Ann were born. Rick and Iva lived in the Welling area, a brief time in Colorado, then back to Welling until moving to Vici in 2008. Rick worked as an auto technician at McKay Ford in Woodward, and in his spare time enjoyed cars (especially Mustangs!), racing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Oklahoma Mustang Club. He was a member of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn where he had been baptized on January 11, 1987.
In addition to his parents Edward and Jaunita Jennings, Rick was preceded in death by his wife Iva Jennings, three children Sheri Jennings, Matthew Jennings, and Ann Jennings, as well as a brother Delmar Jennings.
Left to carry his legacy are daughters, Mikahla Jennings of Vici, OK and Emily Smith and husband Brian of New Whiteland, IN; grandchildren Landyn Jennings and Daniel Smith, sister Anita Sue Ward and husband Ray; brothers Johnny Jennings and wife Ginger, James Jennings all of Welling, OK, Dwayne Jennings and wife Carol of Eldon, OK, Gary Jennings and wife Janice of Tahlequah, OK, Keith Jennings and wife Sue of Newport Virginia.
