Rickie C. Knight was born on June 9, 1951 in Peoria, IL to Mike and Norma Faye (Cullison) Dever. Rick passed from this life on November 17, 2012 in Canadian, TX at the age of 61. Rick attended all of his schooling in Pekin, IL graduating from Pekin Community High School in 1969. Rick later attended Southwest Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.
In 1977 Rick was united in marriage with Kathy Rhyner in Irving, TX. The couple was blessed with three children; Stephanie, Renay and Charisa.
Rick spent his life working in the oil field as a self-employed ditcher. In 1995 he moved to Higgins, TX and while living there he also worked for the Town of Higgins maintenance department.
Rick was baptized in 1969 and was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Pekin, IL.
Rick was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved to watch them play as often as possible. He also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.
Rick was proceeded in death by his mother, Norma Faye Dever, the mother of his children, Kathy Rhyner, his brother Patrick Dever, and his nephew Christopher (Bubba) Womeldorff. He is survived by his daughters; Stephanie Meininger of Gun Barrell, TX, Renay Kennedy of Seven Points, TX and Charisa Baumgartner of Higgins, TX, his father Mike Dever of Pekin, IL, brothers Greggory Knight of Pekin, IL, Noel Dever of Mapleton, IL, sisters Lisa Lairson of Pekin, IL, Andrea Randall of Sanford, FL, Christine Skelton of Adrian, ND, Susan Dever of Canton, IL and Julie Atchison of Ozark, MO. Six grandchildren; Trevor McKnight, Hayley Canales, Kathy Meininger, Anthony Leon, Michael Elango and Brenden Elango, several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. To honor Rick's life, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Hemphill County Texas, or be given towards the cost of funeral services.
