Roger Keith Edwards, of Woodward, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, after bravely battling pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his devoted family and firmly held in the grace of God—whose love Roger came to know later than he would've liked but embraced fully and fervently. He never missed a chance to ask anyone-whether family, friend or stranger- if they had accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and he was always ready to help guide them to salvation. Roger's faith was not just personal—it grew through years of involvement at Free Will Baptist Church in Woodward. He valued the message, the fellowship, and the sense of belonging he found within that community.
Born in Hutchinson, Kansas, on May 13, 1943, Roger moved to Garden City with his parents, brother Richard, and sister Sharon. It was there he spent his formative years and met the love of his life, Paula. In 1979, Roger and Paula settled in Woodward, Oklahoma, a place he proudly called home for the remainder of his days.
Roger lived a life marked by steady hands, a stubborn streak, and an enduring love for those around him. If you were in a bind, he'd help without hesitation—but he'd also let you know exactly how you ended up there. His advice was honest, sometimes blunt, always rooted in care and hard-earned wisdom.
Roger and Paula shared over 65 years of marriage; full of life, laughter, and no shortage of moments where he took great pride in lovingly getting under her skin. Beneath the mischief was a bond built on shared history, family, and a whole lot of character. He was a proud father to seven children: Renee Spillman (Kurt Osterbuhr), Lana Farmer (Billy Farmer), Stacy Carson (Dallas Carson), Lisa Beavers (Larry Beavers), Marla Beavers (Henry Beavers), Roger L. Edwards and Carey Edwards.
Roger dedicated over 50 years of loyal service to Beaver Express, where his dependability and honesty earned the admiration and friendship of countless coworkers. Outside of work, Roger found true joy in camping, fishing, tinkering in his shop, and sharing coffee with his friends during quiet mornings. These simple pleasures were sacred to him, filled with warmth, humor and gratitude.
He leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and wisdom—a life well-lived and deeply loved.
Roger is survived by his wife, Paula Edwards, his sister Sharon Flynn, his children and their partners; Renee Spillman (Kurt Osterbuhr); Lana Farmer (Billy Farmer); Stacy Carson (Dallas Carson); Lisa Beavers (Larry Beavers); Marla Beavers (Henry Beavers); Roger L.
