Ronnie grew up on a ranch southwest of Vici in Ellis County. He attended Lone Star School thru the 8th grade and graduated from Vici High School.
While attending high school he was actively involved in Vocational Agriculture. He thoroughly enjoyed caring for and showing his Hereford steers. His steers placed at the top in both the Oklahoma and Tulsa State Fairs.
Following high school graduation Ronnie was drafted into the military. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army receiving his basic training at Camp Chaffee and 2 years in Germany prior to his military discharge.
He was actively employed in the uranium mines in Southwest Colorado for several years before returning to Oklahoma.
While living in Colorado he met and married June Gonzales. To this union two children were born, Nina and Rhonda.
He was an excellent welder and pursued that vocation until his health forced his retirement. He enjoyed being employed at Everett's Welding for several years.
In later years Ronnie reared two of his grandsons, Scotty and Jonathan. They were very special to him. They grew up in his home west of Vici.
Ronnie was a quiet person with a big heart. He loved his animals. After he was unable to be out, he especially enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. He loved to work in his garden. Each spring he would look forward to being able to plant his tomato plants with much anticipation of a bountiful crop. He also enjoyed the many hours he spent in the trees cutting firewood; this was a special, peaceful time for him. He sold firewood to many people in Texas and around Vici.
He is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Stephenson of Nucla, CO; Nina Rash of Vici, OK; one sister, Wanda White and husband Sherrill of Vici, OK; grandsons, Scotty Stephenson and wife Holly of Vici, OK; Jonathan Stephenson of TX, nephews, Bryan White and wife Kim of Glencoe, OK; Mori White and wife Teri of Woodward, OK; Arron White and wife Stacey of Woodward, OK.
