Ronald Lee "Ron" Damon passed away surrounded by loved ones in Enid, Oklahoma on November 22, 2022.  He was born December 20, 1946 in Hayward, California, to Francis Irwin "Smiley" Damon and Virginia Lee "Ginger" Damon.  As an Air Force dependent, he and his younger siblings were blessed with many adventures.  Ron lived and went to schools in Hawaii, Arizona, Newfoundland, Louisiana, back to Newfoundland, and finished his senior year at Vici, Oklahoma where he graduated as salutatorian in 1964.  He attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma.  In high school and his young adult years, he enjoyed playing chess, singing, playing his guitar, and motocross racing.

He worked for Pillsbury for a short time before he settled on his career with the Burlington Northern Railroad starting his career in Enid, Oklahoma.  He retired from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas prior to moving back home to live out his days in Enid, Oklahoma.  Throughout his adult years, he enjoyed traveling, listening to live blues music, watching movies, listening to all genres of music, and was a computer enthusiast.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife Beverly Hamilton Damon, his father Francis "Smiley" Damon, his sister Sandy Washmon, and his sister Donna Cook.  He is survived by his mother Virginia "Ginger" Damon of Seiling, OK, Lola Mae Martin, his brother Stephen Damon and wife Lani of Cache, OK, his daughter Lorinda McDaniel and husband Christopher of Enid, OK, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service for Ron will be Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Shaw Funeral Home Chapel.
