Ronald James Snowden, 76, of Arnett, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on February 27, 2026.
Ronald was born on June 7, 1949, in Bremerton, Washington, to Maxine Snowden. He was raised in Bremerton. On June 15, 1968, Ronald married the love of his life, Kathryn Marie Ellen White. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, living in various communities including San Diego, California, and several towns across Washington, Mississippi, and Oklahoma.
While living in Bremerton, Washington, Ronald and Kathryn were blessed with two children, Tammie and Ronald. Later, while residing in Pascagoula, Mississippi, they welcomed two more children, Denise and Brian, completing their family.
In 1968, Ronald proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country honorably until 1970. During his service, he attained an Outstanding Marksman Award, a distinction he carried with pride. Following his military service, Ronald worked as a shipbuilder and rigger. In 1975, he began a 30-year career in the oilfield industry, where he became known for his strong work ethic and dedication. After retiring from the oilfield, he continued serving his community through his work for the City of Arnett, from which he ultimately retired.
Ronald had a deep love for riding motorcycles, fishing, and tinkering with anything he could get his hands on. He was rarely idle and found joy in fixing, building, and improving the world around him. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Snowden; his son, Brian Snowden; and his brothers, Dennis Snowden and Gene Neatour.
Ronald is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Kathryn Snowden of Arnett; his daughter, Tammie Morehead and husband Pete of Canadian, Texas; his son, Ronald Snowden; and his daughter, Denise Kibbe of Arnett. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Jamie Reames and husband Dusten of Canadian, Texas; Devon Morehead and wife Brittany of Eufaula, Oklahoma; Josh Kibbe and wife Jordyn of Arnett; and Jacklyn Schnier and husband Nathan of Cheney, Kansas; as well as 13 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will deeply miss him.
Ronald will be remembered for his steadfast love for his family, his service to his country, and the hardworking spirit that defined his life.
