IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosemarie Elizabeth
Burns
September 9, 1951 – July 20, 2023
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rosemarie Elizabeth Burns, a cherished wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, and beloved friend. Rosemarie left this world on July 20, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Born on a sunny September day in 1951, Rosemarie came into the world as a beacon of light to her parents, John and Margaret Menzia. She grew up in Aberdeen, South Dakota, surrounded by the love of her family, and their affection nurtured the kind and caring nature that would define her life.
On July 7, 1971, Rosemarie took the hand of her best friend, George Burns Jr., in marriage, embarking on a journey of love and companionship that lasted for over five decades. Together, they built a life filled with happiness and joy. Their love bore the fruit of two wonderful children, Danyell and Michael, whom Rosemarie adored and cherished beyond measure.
Rosemarie was a woman of many passions. She had a lightness in her step and a grace on the dance floor that brought joy to all who watched her move. The tranquility of being on the boat allowed her to connect with nature, while bird watching awakened in her a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her.
Her greatest joy, however, came from being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. Rosemarie's love knew no bounds, and her presence could light up any room. She embraced her bonus daughters, Misty Morgan, Kristi Sides and Renee Rose, with open arms, weaving them into the fabric of her family with warmth and acceptance.
A lifelong learner, Rosemarie pursued her passion for helping others by obtaining her dental hygienist license. She dedicated herself to the health care industry, making a difference in the lives of those she cared for, both professionally and in home health settings. Her tender touch and compassionate nature left a lasting impact on the lives of many, earning her the respect and gratitude of all who crossed her path.
As we mourn the loss of Rosemarie, we take solace in the memories of her laughter, her unconditional love, and the joy she brought to our lives. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Rosemarie is preceded in death by her parents John and Margaret Menzia and her husband George Burns Jr.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her children Michael Burns of Elk City, OK, Danyell Gamble and her husband Derek of Canute, OK; daughter-in-law Tammy McSperitt of Carter, OK ; grandchildren Ashley Spence and Husband Pat of Elk City, OK, Trenton and Sasha Burns of Elk City and Ian Gamble of Abilene, TX; eight great-grandchildren Rylan, Payzlee, Aspyn and Devyn Spence, Makynleigh, Kynadee, James Lee (Trissell), and Laynie Burns; three bonus daughters Misty Morgan, Kristi Sides and her son Koree, and Renee Rose and her daughter Gracie; special friend Stella Garcia along with a host of extended family and friends.
