Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roy William Smith II, who left us at the age of 48. Roy was born in Phoenix, Arizona, to Terry Don and Dalene (Altaha) Smith, and throughout his life, he embarked on journeys that spanned multiple states, from Arizona to Alaska, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

As a young boy, Roy's life was enriched by diverse experiences, attending grade school in Anadarko, Oklahoma, and later graduating from high school in Cushing, Oklahoma, in the year 1993. Eager for further education, Roy pursued his studies at Haskell University, where he undoubtedly left an indelible mark.

On April 21, 2005, Roy embarked on a new chapter of his life when he exchanged vows with Dixie Lea (Dewald). Their union brought forth the greatest joy of Roy's life, his beloved son, Jaxon Smith. Together, they made cherished memories in Cushing, Oklahoma, and Shattuck, Oklahoma.

Professionally, Roy was dedicated and hardworking, serving with distinction at Energy Transfer. Yet, his true passions lay beyond the confines of the workplace. Roy found solace and joy in the great outdoors, relishing in the pursuits of hunting and fishing. He possessed a talent for grilling, creating delectable feasts for his loved ones to enjoy. However, above all else, Roy's heart belonged to his son, Jaxon, and he treasured every moment they shared together.

Proud of his heritage, Roy was a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe, honoring the traditions and culture of his ancestors. In his passing, Roy is reunited with his father, Terry Smith, and many other beloved family members who have gone before him.

Roy's legacy lives on through those he leaves behind, including his devoted wife, Dixie Smith, and their cherished son, Jaxon, both of Shattuck, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his mother, Darlene Wapaha of Arizona; his brother, Everette Pailzote of Arizona; his grandmother, Serena Altaha; numerous aunts and uncles; one niece; three nephews; and three great-nieces and nephews. Each of them carries a piece of Roy's spirit within them, ensuring that his memory will endure for generations to come.

In the hearts of those who knew him, Roy William Smith II will forever be remembered for his warmth, his kindness, and the love he shared so generously with those around him. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, a beacon of love and light in our lives. Rest in peace, Roy, knowing that you are deeply loved and profoundly missed.
