Obituary

Samuel Curtis Sidders, Jr. was born on April 16, 1945 to Samuel Curtis Sidders and Viola Havik Sidders in Shattuck, Oklahoma. Sam was raised in Shattuck and attended school and graduated high school there.

After graduation he entered into the U.S. Army where he served proudly for two years.   Returning home from serving in Germany he enrolled at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.  During this time Sam married high school sweetheart, Carolyn Clark, and in July, 1970 a daughter, Jenifer Kay Sidders, was born.  Sam graduated in June, 1972 with  a degree in Art Education.

Sam moved to Oklahoma City and opened, Sam's Frame Factory, an art gallery and picture framing business. He also showed his own art work at various festivals and art  galleries around the area. While in Oklahoma City Sam married Emma Nutter and in  April 1973 their son , Samuel Vincent, was born.

Preferring to raise their children in the northwestern Oklahoma area Sam and Emma returned to Shattuck and took over the family business, Sidders Auto Body. In January,  1979 a second son, Martin Alan was born. Sam continued to run the business until his retirement but continued to live in the family home in the country.

When Sam's health declined in 2019 he and Emma moved closer to their son, Samuel Vincent, and his family.  Sam died on June 16, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Curt and Viola Sidders, and his sister, Joann Starbuck. He is survived by his wife, Emma; his daughter, Jenifer Lloyd, her husband, Bob, and grandson, Alex; his son, Vince, and grandchildren, Audrey, Katie and Sam; his  son, Marty and his wife, Bonni, and granddaughter, Bryanna. He is also survived by his niece, Linda Gardner, her husband, Neill and their three children; his nephew, Larry Starbuck, his wife, Debra, and their four children; his nephew, Lonnie Starbuck, his wife, Darla, and their two children; and his well-loved dogs, Jack and Bobbi.
