Obituary

Sharon Ann Messenger went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2024. She was born to William Frederick and Alma Sheid on December 8, 1943 in Hollis, OK. Sharon graduated from Hollis High School in May 1962 and later married the love of her life, Robert Messenger on August 24, 1962. They had a happy marriage of 55 years before Robert passed.

Sharon's life revolved around her faith in Jesus, the love for her husband and family, and serving others.  She had the most servant's heart, always striving to do things for others.  This was evident in her 45 years with Bartlett Insurance Agency where she truly loved her customers and served them diligently.  It was not uncommon for her to take phone calls in the evening, going above and beyond for her customers.  It was also evident in the way she cooked for anyone who walked in her home at a moment's notice.  Friends always left with a full stomach and a happy heart.  Most of all, she served her family well.  She attended every activity her grandkids were involved in from rodeos, basketball games, soccer games, cheer competitions, and softball games.  Whether it was hot or cold outside, she cheered them all on with love from the stands.  Other than spending time with her family, she loved working in her yard and simply visiting with friends.  Sharon appreciated the simple things in life and lived for the Lord.  Her smile and sweet ways will be missed.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and husband.

Sharon is survived by her son, Mark Messenger and his wife Lori of Woodward, OK and her daughter, Marci Miller and her husband Ryan of Stillwater, OK.  Sharon's pride and joy were her grandchildren Ellen, Dax, Madelyn, Jaco, Drew, Morgan, and Maggie and her great grandchildren Townes, Chaney, and Demi.

The family would like to thank the staff of Legacy Village Memory Care of Stillwater.  Those sweet ladies quickly became family during her months there.  They were a blessing to Sharon and the family.

A family visitation will be held at the Hollis Church of Christ between 11:00-1:00 on Friday, March 29, 2024.
