Obituary

Sharon Ann (Bullard)  Patton,  departed this world on March 11, 2024, in Enid, Oklahoma, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication. Born on February 7, 1943, in Shattuck, Oklahoma, to Cecil Franklin and Estella L.E. (Sherrill) Bullard, Sharon's life was marked by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.

Growing up in Harmon, Oklahoma, Sharon attended Arnett High School, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with purpose and kindness. Her journey led her through various places in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas before settling in Fargo, Oklahoma, from 1971 to 1986, and then Woodward, Oklahoma, from 1986 to 2004. Finally, she returned to her roots in Shattuck, Oklahoma, where she spent her final years surrounded by the familiar landscapes of her childhood.

Sharon dedicated over 26 years of her life to serving as a Rural Carrier for the US Postal Service, a testament to her strong work ethic and dedication to her community. From May 22, 1976, to February 21, 2003, she faithfully delivered mail, connecting families and businesses across the region.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sharon was deeply involved in numerous organizations and causes throughout her life. She selflessly volunteered her time and energy to the Red Cross, E.M.T., First Christian Church, Rural Carriers Programs, N.W. Hope, Lighthouse, Friends of Bill W., and the Pink Ladies at Newman Memorial Hospital of Shattuck. Her commitment to service touched countless lives and left an indelible mark on her community.

Sharon's passing is preceded by her daughter, Kimberly Ann Patton, parents, Cecil Franklin and Estella L.E. Bullard, as well as her grandparents, Roy & Ollie Bullard, Clarence and Maud Sherrill nephew, Richard Max Bullard and brother in law, Ronnie Wayland. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Franklin Patton, who she cherished beyond measure. Her grandchildren, Ashleigh Leann Crites, Austin James Crites, Demmi Seelke, and Shalae Newman, and many great-children will forever carry her love in their hearts. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Ginger Patton, step-grandchildren Mitchell Ballard and Quinton Ballard, grandchildren by love Craig Ritter, Trent Ritter, Lindsey Ritter, as well as special individuals in her life, including Cody Goss and Dana Yowell.

Sharon's memory will be lovingly preserved by her sister, Linda Kay Wayland, and Donna Mae Poppe, her brother, Roy Max Bullard, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Her life exemplified the power of kindness, generosity, and compassion, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In honoring Sharon's memory, let us strive to carry forward her legacy of service and love, spreading warmth and compassion to all those we encounter. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she touched, guiding us with her gentle wisdom and eternal love.
