IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sharon L.
Price
August 26, 1949 – November 5, 2023
Sharon Louise Price was born August 26, 1949 to Carlos and Wanda Williams in Denver, Colorado. After moving to Colorado Springs, Sharon became a big sister to three brothers, Michael, David and Kenneth. In 1959, the family moved to Higgins,Texas. Sharon's dad was a homebuilder, and they moved into a home built by her dad. Sharon spent many of her elementary years, as well as her junior high years, in Higgins. After she graduated from 8th grade in 1963, her parents moved to Shattuck, OK to be closer to her dad's business, Ellis County Building and Supply. At first, Sharon was not happy about moving from Higgins to the "big city" of Shattuck. She quickly grew to love Shattuck once she discovered she still had her freedom to ride her bike all over town. Sharon completed 9th-12th grades at Shattuck High School where she lettered in basketball and was also active in FHA, Pep Club, Library Club, S-Club, junior and senior play, and co-editor of the yearbook staff. She was recognized as the outstanding history student and outstanding shorthand student her Sophomore and Junior Years. During her Senior year, her honors included being named outstanding business student, president of the youth choir, and co-salutatorian. She was also named to the state honor society all four years. One of her biggest highlights of her Senior year was becoming engaged to her High School sweetheart, Roger Price, from Arnett, OK. The two had met the summer before her sophomore year at the Shattuck Drive-in. Sharon and Roger dated for almost three years before becoming engaged on April 15,1967. After a brief engagement, Sharon and Roger married on September 9, 1967. Sharon and Roger attended Oklahoma State University where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education. Go Pokes! After she graduated from OSU in 1971, Sharon and Roger made their home in Shattuck, Oklahoma. Her early career involved working at the Oklahoma Soil Conservation office, as well as working as a typesetter for the Northwest Oklahoman. On June 4, 1973, their daughter Sabrina Kathleen Price was born. Almost two years later, their son Ryan Eric Price was born on February 9, 1975. She was the picture of what a working mom should be. In addition to having a successful career, Sharon made life fun and memorable for her children. She enjoyed watching her children participate in all of their various activities. During this time, Sharon was also an active member of the local Young Homemakers of Oklahoma organization in Shattuck. In 1980, Sharon began her career in banking at Farmers & Merchants Bank in Arnett, OK which lasted until 2014. During her latter years, she held the title of Vice-President and Cashier. In 1981, Roger and Sharon moved their family into a one-of-a-kind underground home that Roger designed and built with Sharon right beside him helping with every detail. Sharon accepted Christ as her savior at a young age and spent the rest of her life serving the Lord. She was heavily involved in Shattuck First Baptist Church. Serving at the church and sharing the love of Jesus was very important to her. She served in nearly every facet of the church, including First Kids, Mother's Day Out, Youth Group, 5th Quarter, church dinners, VBS teacher, Family Festival, Senior Dinner, a church "decorator", photographing baptisms, preparing the weekly church bulletin and annual church reports. At the time of her passing, she volunteered as a children's Sunday School teacher, church secretary, and helped with all children's and youth activities. She believed that accepting Christ as Lord of your Life was the most important decision and that was what mattered most in this life. As the years went by, Sharon's family began to grow. She was excited to welcome a son-in-law, Mike Stewart, and a daughter-in-law, Robyn Girton Price, into her family. She was then promoted to Grammy (her most favorite title of all ) in 1999, 2001, 2002, and 2006 when her grandchildren McCaleb, Brayden, Caroline, Grayson and Connor were born. Grammy deeply loved each one of them. She was best known to her family for making every holiday special with unique decorations, festive food, and establishing traditions. She believed in making special memories with each family member. Many of these celebrations included her famous, personalized chocolate sheet cakes. She loved attending her grandchildren's activities, was extremely proud of each one of them, and truly connected with each grandchild. Sharon and Roger loved taking trips and camping with family and friends. Sharon also loved flowers and gardening and enjoyed being outside making her yard look beautiful. She loved spending time with several friend groups having weekly lunches or taking special trips. After retirement, Sharon was an active part of the community of Shattuck. She volunteered at the windmill museum and delivered meals on wheels on a regular basis. When she was not watching her grandchildren, she enjoyed watching the Shattuck Indians as well as the Arnett Wildcats. Sharon had a bright smile and a twinkle in her eye and always had an encouraging word to share. She had a servant's heart and believed in participating in things that are important and always doing your best. Sharon and Roger celebrated 56 years of marriage on Sept. 9, 2023. Sharon unexpectedly passed from a pulmonary embolism and went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 5, 2023 at the age of 74. Her grandparents and parents, Wanda and Carlos Williams, were there to welcome her home. She leaves behind her husband Roger Price, daughter and son-in-law Sabrina and Mike Stewart, son and daughter-in-law Ryan and Robyn Price, and her five grandchildren McCaleb Stewart, Brayden Stewart, Grayson Stewart, Caroline Price and Connor Price. She is also survived by her three brothers and their spouses– Mike and Peggy Williams, David and Noretta Williams, Kenny and LeahAnne Williams; Roger's three sisters and their spouses–Verna and Ronnie Davis, Golda and Phil Blythe, and Sandra Price– and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she dearly loved.
