Sherry Dayle Wright ( Woodward, Oklahoma ) the eighth daughter of the late Alfred Nathan and V. LaVaughn (Liston ) Young was born Friday, September 6, 1963, in Waynoka, Oklahoma . She passed quietly from this life and was received by our heavenly father on March 13, 2023 at her home , surrounded by family and friends at the age of Fifty-nine years, six months and 7 days.
Sherry grew up in Waynoka, OK and was a 1982 graduate of Waynoka High School. As a child Sherry accepted Christ as her personal savior , was Baptized and remained a member of the First Baptist Church, Waynoka, Oklahoma. She began her working career as a CNA geriatric nurse, caring for the elderly. She worked a short time in the office of Razien Metals, Woodward, Oklahoma but spent most of her working years ( 17 ) as a Registration clerk for the Woodward Memorial Hospital/ Alliance Health , ( Woodward, Oklahoma) where she was a trusted and dedicated employee. .
Sherry was a delightful and Ornery girl. She was the PRINCESS of her family , doted on by her brother, sisters and parents. In her young days she loved participating in cheerleading, music, school activities and spending time with friends. She delighted in spending time with her children and grand-children, teaching them to swim, fish and enjoy the outdoors. She loved : boating, camping, traveling, Motorcycle trips , fishing and her husband BOB.
On June 8, 1982 at the Congregational Church, Waynoka, Oklahoma, Sherry married her high-school sweetheart Robert ( Bob) Wright. Their marriage was a heart-filled and committed story of unconditional Love and Devotion. They took care of each other through many years of sickness and hardship never faltering or questioning their love and devotion to each other. Their young family spent all of their married lives in Oklahoma. They lived in Waynoka, Fort Cobb and Cherokee making their final home in Woodward where they lived many years. Sherry was a loving devoted and loyal wife , mother, grandmother and sister. She loved deeply with every fiber of her soul.
To this union two children - Cody Lee and Cord Robert Wright were born. Sherry and Bob taught their children to explore and love the great outdoors. They introduced them to camping, hiking, off-road activities, boating, fishing , mechanicing, and other activities to numerous to mention.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, one sister : Terri Lynn ( in infancy) two nephews: Adam Wright and Matthew Paul Nutter and one great-nephew : Trevor Palmer ( in infancy). She is survived by her loving husband: Robert ( Bob) Wright of the home ( Woodward ) , two children: Cody Wright and his wife Melinda ( Woodward, Oklahoma) and Cord Wright ( Woodward, Oklahoma), four grandchildren: Zachary, LeAnn, Johnathan and Tinsley Wright, six sisters: Pamelia Bell ( Hot Springs, Arkansas), Angela Holden ( Plano, Texas ), Alfreda Schulz (Oklahoma, City ), Arthetta Long and her husband Wayne ( Douglass, Kansas), Arnetta Ball and her husband Marty ( Marble Falls, Texas ), Kristi Phillips ( Larned, Kansas ) and one brother : Alfred E. Young and his wife Lisa ( Weatherford, Oklahoma), two brother-in-laws: Jim and Bill Wright, two aunts: Wilma Lee Williamson ( Felt, Oklahoma) and Sandra Gilreath and her husband James ( Watonga, Oklahoma ), a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.
