Obituary

Sina Ruth (Karnes) Wilson passed away in Oklahoma City at 1:20 pm on May 18, 2019, due to severe complications of congestive heart failure. Sina Ruth was born June 24, 1928 to Clarence George Karnes and Ruth Jenkins (Mose) Karnes near Dilworth, Kay County, Oklahoma. Clarence moved his family to his 1900 farm site in Ellis County in 1933 to be near Ira and Cora Belle (Karnes) Johnson, Clarence's older sister. The Karnes children were George, Carrel, Buddy, James, Sina Ruth, Emma and Lonnie Karnes. They attended schools at Parkman, Fargo, and Arnett and all attended church at Harmon. In 1943 Thomas Jefferson Wilson and his wife, Gladys (Best) Wilson moved their family to a farm east of Harmon. Sina Ruth met their youngest son, Arnold Edgar "Ed" Wilson and they married December 1, 1945 in Liberal, Kansas while he served during WWII in the U.S. Army Signal Corps at Ft. Sill. After Ed's discharge they lived in Kiowa, Kansas, Canton, and Crescent, Oklahoma before moving to Del City where he worked at Tinker AFB from 1951-1959. In 1960 Ed moved to Moore to work at FAA from 1960-1988. Sina Ruth also worked at Tinker AFB and transferred to FAA in 1961 where they drove to work daily until she retired. Two sons were born to Sina Ruth and Ed, first Carrel Edgar at Shattuck in 1947 and Richard Dwayne at Guthrie in 1951. Richard died on January 3, 1992 and Ed died on January 5, 2005. Ed and Sina Ruth were members of Southern Baptist churches in Del City and Moore. She was preceded in death by her brothers James in Kay County; Buddy in Austria in WWII; George & wife Wreatha with their children Maxine and Gerald in Udall, Kansas in 1955; father Clarence in 1965; brother Carrel in 1985; mother Ruth in 1988; youngest son Richard in 1992; husband Ed in 2005, and sister Emma in 2017. Sina Ruth found joy in her fruit, vegetable, and flower gardens, motor boating, square dance clubs, and travels with her husband of 59 years. Sina Ruth is survived by her son Carrel Edgar Wilson and wife Samme Lane; grandson Taylor Fitzgerald Wilson; step-granddaughter Kelley Porterfield; brother Lonnie Karnes and wife Christine; nephew Sammy Karnes and wife Sandy; nephew Todd Karnes; Janet (Karnes) Shirley and husband Jimmy; brother-in-law Donald Haines; niece Margie McDaniel; nephew Dwayne Hodges; niece Teresa Davis; niece Donna Haines; nephew Rene Haines; sister-in-law Iva (Hunter) Karnes; nephew Eugene Karnes and wife Myra; niece Lynda (Karnes) Roy and husband Arthur; nephew Jim Wilson and wife Reneah; niece Cora Belle (Wilson) Sanders; niece Ruth Ann (Wilson) Flaming; great-nephew Chris Flaming; sister-in-law Helen (Wilson) Hemphill; nephew Rensey Durham; niece Gaye Durham; step-grandson Kevin Franklin; niece Shirley Beth Clemence; niece Betty Sue Wilson; close neighbors Dr. Brian and Cindy Lepley; and a host of friends.
