IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stacy Leann
Boyd
April 2, 1990 – September 13, 2021
Stacy Leann Boyd was born April 2, 1990 in Elk City, OK to Russ and Lorri Boyd. Waiting at home for her arrival was proud big brother, Mitch, and big sister, Kelly. She was welcomed in Heaven on September 13, 2021 from her hometown of Leedey, OK at 31 years old.
When Russ and Lorri brought Stacy home from the hospital, Mitch was beaming with excitement. Kelly, on the other hand, was convinced she wanted a baby brother and wasn't the least bit thrilled. That soon wore off and they became close playmates. Stacy showed her independent personality from the very beginning. She started walking on her own at only 6 months cheerfully chasing behind her older siblings. Russ gave her the nickname "Toby" at a very young age. She loved wearing dresses and princess high heels, but she was as rough and tough as any of the boys. Stacy loved animals. It was a common sight to find her in the yard playing with a bottle calf, her dogs, and kittens. She even had a pet goat named Lulu. Stacy started PreK at Leedey Public Schools in 1994. She was never a fan of school and repeatedly told everyone the ideal school day would last from 10am until 2pm. She lived east of Leedey until age 9 when the family built their home and moved west of Leedey. Stacy graduated from Leedey High School with the class of 2008. She was Senior Class President as well as an active member of FCCLA & BPA. She made sure Allie and Madison were always in her prom and banquet pictures. She loved to help them sew their own dress up dresses.
Stacy began cosmetology school at WTC in Sayre during high school. After high school graduation, she attended NOC-OSU in Stillwater for 1 year. Lorri gave Stacy a credit card when she left for Stillwater to use for emergencies only. The card was soon revoked after Lorri received a few statements deeming that Eskimo Joe's and Joseppi's were emergencies. She returned to Sayre to finish cosmetology school in 2009. During that time she stayed with Kelly and Cole. Her special bond and spoiling of Baby Calli began. After cosmetology graduation, she worked at Kayla's Salon in Leedey. She began working for Bob Basler at Leedey Insurance in 2010. A few years into the journey she was able to buy the business when Bob retired. The business grew immensely during the first couple of years, with the help of trusted friend and employee Melissa Folks. Stacy loved her customers just as much as they loved her. She was so proud to build her own home near her parents in 2017. She loved to host parties and have family gatherings. She always said, "this is why I built all these porches." She loved having friends over to hang out.
Stacy was baptized on November 10, 2013 at age 23 and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Leedey. She always gave credit to Annie Switzer for bringing her to church and closer to God. Stacy was extremely active in the Leedey community. She was a member of the Leedey Chamber of Commerce and a board member for the Leedey Clinic. She loved serving the community, and took her work seriously. She was always present for any community activity. Some of her favorite events were dressing up for Halloween to hand out candy on Main Street, and filling Easter eggs for the town egg hunt.
Stacy loved kids. She was a passionate volunteer for CASA of Western Oklahoma. She never referred to the kids as cases, she always called them "my kids." She called her nieces, nephews, and friends' kids, "my babies." She never missed a birthday party, and made sure to spoil her babies with dollar store shopping sprees. Her only rule was, "just tell your parents it was only $1." She portrayed the "fun aunt" role well.
Stacy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Wayne & Arlene Boyd and Orville & Dorothy Holcomb; great grandmother, Verla Boyd; sister-in-law, Angel Boyd; and cousin, Zac Boyd.
She is survived by her parents, Russ & Lorri Boyd of Leedey; brother, Mitch Boyd of Leedey; sister and brother-in-law, Kelly & Cole Taylor of Sayre; nieces and nephews, Aaron Williams, Allie Haney, Madison & Mackenzie Boyd, Calli, Maverick & Knox Taylor; great nephew, Rowan Williams; numerous aunts, uncles & cousins; and more friends than any one person can count.
