Steven William Rock

Jul 22, 1968 — Aug 31, 2026

Woodward, OK

Steven William Rock, 58, of Woodward, Oklahoma, passed away on August 31, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Steven was born July 22, 1968, in Perryton, Texas, to Robert Lee and Rosemary (Freeman) Rock. He spent his early years in Perryton and Farnsworth, Texas, before the family eventually made their home in Woodward, Oklahoma. Steven attended grade school in both Perryton and Woodward. In 2006, he proudly earned his GED from the Vo-Tech in Woodward.

Steven was blessed with five children: Joshua, Jonathan, Bryce, Melia, and Jaycee. One of his proudest moments as a father was the birth of his son, Jonathan Deion, who was the first millennial baby born in Woodward County in 2000.

Throughout his life, Steven worked as a rig hand in the oilfield and held various other jobs. He was a hardworking man who could turn his hand to many things and was always willing to help when someone needed it.

Steven enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved listening to loud music, playing video games, and gathering with family and friends for cookouts. He was an avid fan of the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. Steven also attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Perryton, Texas, when he was young and later attended Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in Woodward.

Steven had a big heart and an even bigger circle of people who knew and loved him. He knew a lot of people, liked everyone he met, and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. His kindness, willingness to lend a hand, sense of humor, and love for his family and friends will be deeply missed. The memories he created with those around him will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rosemary Rock; his sons, Jonathan Rock and Bryce Lukes; and his niece, April Rock.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Leelyn Rock of Woodward, Oklahoma; his sister, Lisa Rock of Woodward, Oklahoma; his children, Joshua McClane, Melia Palomo, and Jaycee Hammon; three aunts; one uncle; one niece; one nephew; and many other relatives and a host of friends.

Steven will be remembered as someone who never met a stranger, who cared about people, and who was always ready to help. Though he is no longer with us, the love he gave and the memories he left behind will remain with his family and friends forever.
