Susan Adele Byers was born into this world on May 7th, 1962 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the second of four children born to Harold and Sharon Byers. Susan began her relationship with God early on in her life. At 11 years of age, on September 4th, 1973, she began her walk with God when she was baptized by her dad in the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. Not long after this, God placed her companion, Monte Moss, in her life in the summer of '82 at the Colorado Camp Meetings. The following year, they became one on November 10th. The love they had for each other grew and grew as the years went by and they began to start their little family. God blessed them with 3 children: Autumn, Bethany, and Shane. As she began to watch her little family grow one by one, her love for them and God grew exponentially. She knew she wanted to gain her crown and serve God with all her heart, and that's what she always wanted for them. She enjoyed watching her kids go through school and going to all of their activities, but her greatest joy was being able to witness them give their lives to serve God as they one by one were baptized in this wonderful faith. Her faithfulness and patience was greatly rewarded when she was also able to watch her companion go down in the water. She used to say that when she watched him go down she felt like she was going down again herself. Having a house of prayer was something she could never thank God enough for. Through her life, she loved travelling with her family and going to visit the brethren. Before her kids were old enough to drive, she used to drive them to many church functions and loved staying with brethren. The mountains of Colorado always gave her such happiness, and driving with the windows down over the passes always put a smile on her face. She enjoyed many things in her life, but most of all she enjoyed the love of the brethren and being in the center of Gods will. After 52 years of living on this footstool, and a little over 30 years of marriage, she returned to the father on September 24th, 2014, with her family beside her. Susan was preceded in death and survived by many loved ones, family, friends, and brethren. Her whole life she taught her family and brethren many lessons, but the greatest lesson she taught was how to live and in the end give her life for God.
