Tammy Lee Ramey

Tammy Lee Ramey, lovingly known to family and friends as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the hospice house in Oklahoma City. She was born on July 5, 1966, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to her mother, Kathy Grovell.

Tammy spent her childhood in New Bedford, where she attended local schools from elementary through high school. Determined and hardworking, she later completed her GED online and continued her education at American River College in California. At the age of 27, in the summer of 1993, Tammy was baptized, marking a meaningful and life-changing commitment to her faith.

From the age of 18 to 40, Tammy lived in and around Sacramento, California. It was there that she built lasting friendships and deepened her faith as a member of Abundant Life Fellowship in Roseville. Later in life, after moving to Oklahoma, she attended Harvest Fellowship in Leedey, continuing her walk with the Lord and her commitment to her church community.

On April 27, 2001, Tammy married the love of her life, Brian Ralph Ramey, in Sacramento, California. Together they built a beautiful life and shared the blessing of eight children: Joshua Cabral, Damien Rocheteau, James Rocheteau, Nikki Cowdin, Wilma Rocheteau, Madison Ramey, Jonas Escalara, and Desi Ramey. After their marriage, Tammy resided in California from 2001 to 2007 before relocating to Oklahoma in 2007, where she remained until her passing.

Tammy dedicated her career to serving children as a school nutrition manager, a role that reflected her nurturing spirit and caring heart. She found joy in simple pleasures—knitting, crocheting, baking for those she loved, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her home was often filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting smell of something delicious in the oven.

Above all, Tammy treasured her family. She was a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren and loved her many nieces and nephews dearly. She is survived by her children; her grandchildren; her sister Kelly Depina; her brothers William Grovell Jr. and Tony Grovell; and her sister Montana Staley. She also leaves behind extended family members and countless friends who will deeply miss her kindness, strength, and unwavering faith.

Tammy’s life was one of resilience, devotion, and love. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
