Obituary

Thelma Fleming Murlin was born June 25, 1912 to Joe and Pearl Wilson Fleming in Dewey County, Oklahoma near Mutual area. She went home to be with her Lord on May 24, 2009 at the age of 96.

Thelma spent her early years on the farm, east of Seiling, attending a country school the first years of her life. The family moved to Seiling and Thelma graduated from Seiling High School.

On July 4, 1936 she was united in marriage to Dale Murlin in Alva, Oklahoma. They lived several places before moving to Wichita, Kansas during World War II. While living in Wichita, Thelma graduated from Beauty College. They moved back to Woodward, Oklahoma where she had a beauty shop in her home for 45 years. There was one child in the family, Betty Murlin.

Thelma did lots of arts and crafts and loved to work in the yard. She always had lots of flowers. Thelma was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Woodward for several years.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Dale Murlin, parents, Joe and Pearl Fleming, daughter Betty Murlin, brother, Leland Fleming and a sister Mildred Bachman. Those left to mourn her passing are her nephew Robert Bachman and wife Marsha of Centennial, Colorado; niece Shirley Small and husband Bob of Cottonwood, Arizona; special cousin Shirley Carroll of Yukon, Oklahoma other family and a host of friends.
