Loree "Go Go" Shultz, 99, of Pampa, Texas died Friday April 5th, 2013 at Southlake, Texas. Memorial services will be at 3.00 p. m., April 27th at the First Christian Church in Arnett, Oklahoma with Rev Richard Royal officiating. The body was cremated and will not be available for viewing. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home of Vici, Oklahoma.
Loree was born November 17, 1913, at Arnett, Oklahoma, and graduated from Arnett High School in 1931. She married her high school sweetheart, E. E. "Pinky" Shultz, on June 20, 1936 at Enid Okla.
She grew up on a farm outside of Arnett with seven brothers and one sister. She began cooking for the harvest crew at age five when a special stool was built for her so she could climb up and see the top of the stove to cook the morning biscuits. Cooking became second nature as she began winning blue ribbons at the age of 14 at local and state fairs for her canning and cooking skills. She was also a starter for the Arnett Wildcats high school basketball team for two years.
She and Pinky moved to Pampa in 1946 where she was an active member of the First Christian Church for the next 62 years serving on several committees before moving to Southlake, Texas in 2009. After being a stay at home Mom for several years, she went to work for the Highland Fashions store for 30 years where most of her earnings went towards the purchase of clothing for her daughter Joy and subsequently her grandchildren.
Loree's main talent was that of a loving and caring mother. She set a high bar as to what being a Mother really meant. She was small in stature, but mighty in faith and devotion to her family. She was part of the Greatest Generation with a special dedication to being wise with her money. However, her and Pinky's generosity was legendary when it came to her children, grandchildren and church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elbert E. Shultz, parents, Richard E. "Dick" and Jenny Miller, brothers, Roy, Kay, and Luther, brother- in- law Bunny Shultz, sister- in- law Geraldine Shultz and daughter- in -law Linda Gail Shultz.
Survivors include daughter and son- in -law, Joy and Billy Williams of North Richland Hills, Texas, son Gary Shultz and fiancé Shirley Gray of Dallas; grandchildren Shawn Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, Brandy Williams and Brett Charhon of Dallas, Texas, Ryan and wife Connie Shultz of Dallas, Texas, Taylor and wife Melissa Shultz of San Antonio, Texas, Lauren Shultz Smeds and husband Gary of North Richland Hills, Texas, and eight great grandchildren. She was also survived by her sister Lela Vincent of Oklahoma City, Ok., brothers Max Miller and wife Norma Lee of Arnett, Ok, Ronald Miller and wife Pat of Arnett, Ok., brother Sam and wife Beth of Red Bluff, California ,and brother Richard Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
