Obituary

Thomas Earl Ford, affectionately known as Tom, peacefully passed away on July 5, 2023, in Woodward, Oklahoma. Born on September 20, 1934, in Logan, Oklahoma, he was the cherished son of Roxcoe Mead Ford and Elizabeth Belle Huddleston.

Tom's early years were spent in Logan, Oklahoma, where he developed a strong sense of family and community. He was preceded in death by his parents and twelve siblings: Mabel Gun, George Ford, Roy Ford, Carl Ford, Odel Ford, Allen Ford, Vera Ruben, Lucy Gonser, Bessie Kraft, Betty Stoughton, Edith Ford, and Bud Ford.

On June 2, 1963, Tom exchanged vows with the love of his life, Glenys Deal, in Lipscomb, Texas. Their union was a testament to love, dedication, and companionship. Together, they built a home first in Darrouzett, Texas, and later in Woodward, Oklahoma. Tom and Glenys shared countless precious moments and created a warm and loving environment for their family and friends.

Tom's professional journey was marked by his dedication and hard work. He spent many years working in the pipeline industry, utilizing his skills as a pipeline worker. Later, he transitioned to positions with Woodward County and the Oklahoma State Highway Department, where he served as a respected heavy equipment operator. Tom's commitment to his craft and strong work ethic earned him the admiration and respect of his colleagues.

Outside of his professional life, Tom found solace and joy in his hobbies. He had a deep passion for fishing, spending serene hours on lakes and rivers, appreciating the beauty of nature and the tranquility it brought. He also held a genuine appreciation for old pickups, marveling at their timeless appeal and craftsmanship. These pastimes allowed Tom to find peace and relaxation, providing a respite from the demands of everyday life.

Tom's spiritual journey played a vital role in his life. He was baptized in Follett, Texas, and found a nurturing spiritual home as a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church. His involvement in the church community fostered deep and lasting connections with fellow congregants, and he actively participated in various church activities.

Thomas Earl Ford leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and faith. He is survived by his beloved wife, Glenys Ford, his son Derek Ford, and his adoring grandchildren, Jarrod Ford and his wife Charlee, and Jacie Ford. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Raylee Ford, Kate Ford, and Margot Ford, as well as several nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
