T om departed this earth and went home to be with our Lord Jesus on December 5th, 2020, at the age of 78.

Thomas "Tom" Lloyd Starbuck was born January 29th, 1942 to Lloyd & Blossom Starbuck. He was raised on a farm northwest of Shattuck Oklahoma, west of the Texas line. As a young boy he helped his grand-dad (A. W.) & dad (Lloyd) raise broom corn on the farm. He attended grade school at the Ivanhoe Country School, northwest of Shattuck. Later, he attended junior & senior high at Shattuck Public School. He was united in marriage to Donna Jean Dale on May 10th, 1959 in Higgins Texas. To this union were born two sons: Lonnie & Tim Starbuck.

On December 31st, 1983, Lois Dean Blackwell was united in marriage to Tom Starbuck. Within this union, three additional children were acquired: Victoria, Les & Crystal Blackwell. He continued to raise exceptional children by fostering qualities such as hard work ethics and instilled strong family values.

Tom's passion was his love for the land. He farmed & ranched most of his life while doing many other jobs along the way.  He spent many hours in the hay fields: swathing, baling & hauling hay.  He was a jack-of-all-trades & had a variety of jobs throughout the years. He was an entrepreneur & owned/operated many businesses such as the family dairy, auto body repair/mechanic shop, Triple S Enterprises & T & L Cafe . He went to work for Ellis county as an employee from 1975-76. In 1980, Tom decided to run for county commissioner and was elected to that position in 1981. He continued to serve the people as county commissioner for the next 16 years. After Tom's retirement, he continued to serve the Shattuck community, as he started a tire shop and feed store. Tom enjoyed his last years on his farm south of Gage; where he worked and lived out the rest of his life.

Tom is survived by:  Lois Starbuck of the home, Shane & Victoria Eller, Les Blackwell, Crystal Sprague, Logan Matthews, Bert & Danielle (Schultz) Saylor, Rylee Sprague & Ancyn Sprague, Ben & Linda Long, Roy & Deana Butler, Marissa Craig.

Donna (Starbuck) Ogle, Lonnie & Diedra Starbuck, Tim & Krista Starbuck, Matthew & Amy Starbuck, Marcus & Kala (Starbuck) Mead, Grayson & Crystal Starbuck, Brent Starbuck, Aaron Starbuck, Asher Starbuck, Gatlin Starbuck, Tindler Mead, Gridley Starbuck & many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives & life long friends.

Tom was preceded in death by:  A.W. & Josie Starbuck, Lloyd & Blossom Starbuck, Several aunts, uncles, cousins, family & friends.

Tom was very much loved by his family, close friends & community. He will be greatly missed.
