Tony Ray Sammons was born March 9, 1953 in Torrance, California to Carmel Lee and Barbara Hood Sammons. He passed from this life February 6, 2011 at the age of 57.
Tony grew up in Hayward, California. He attended Winton Junior High and Sunset High School. He joined the United States Marines when he was 17 and was stationed in Guam and Japan. While serving his country, Tony received the Rifle Marksman Badge and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in October, 1971.
Tony went to school for computer programming. He was very smart and could do just about anything. Tony held many jobs over the years including electronics, machine shop worker, butcher, construction worker and worked for a chemical company. He eventually moved back to Muldrow, Oklahoma.
On September 3, 1995, in answer to a prayer, Tony was united in marriage to Roberta Donnell or "Robbie" as Tony so affectionately referred to her. The marriage took place right here in Arnett Oklahoma. They had the privilege of sharing a very special love for each other over the last sixteen years.
Tony was very charismatic and charming and people really liked him. He loved to have fun. He had a great love for music and had begun trying to play the guitar. Tony loved watching NFL football, camping, fishing, gardening and cooking. He even enjoyed cleaning up after he cooked. Above all else, Tony loved spending time with his family.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Carmel and Barbara and sister, Vickie. He is survived by his loving wife, Robbie Sammons of Arnett, Oklahoma, daughter, Desrea Sammons of San Jose, California, step-daughter, Torie Ashpaugh and husband Marty of Elk City, Oklahoma; step-daughter Trace Ardrey and husband Steve of Lancaster, Ohio; step-son Jerry Donnell and wife Terina of Elk City OK; grandchildren, Madelyn Stiggell of San Jose, California Destinee & Jeremy Donnell of Elk City OK , Stetson, Caleb & Seth all of Elk City, Oklahoma, other relatives and many dear friends.
