Velma Lea McFaul Nix, 77 year old resident of Arnett, OK, passed from this life on July 21, 2022 in Shattuck, OK.  Velma was born October 23, 1944, to Edgar Guy and Evelyn Maxine (Shelton) McFaul in El Paso, TX.  She grew up in Canutillo, TX.  She attended school in Canutillo and graduated from Gadson High School.  On December 24, 1964, Velma married Roger Dale Nix in Las Cruces, NM and to this union six children were born Patsy, Melisa, Barbara, Justin, Christopher and Matthew.

The family lived in Fairacres, NM and then moved to Arnett, OK.  Velma worked as a secretary for Farm Bureau and was the owner of Basic Trucking.  She participated in the PTA in Las Cruces, NM and Arnett, OK as well as other community and school activities.  Velma loved reading, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, bird watching, dressing up as a clown and entertaining others.

Velma is preceded in death by her husband Roger Nix, son Chris McFaul, parents Edgar and Maxine McFaul, grandson Patric Witschi, and great grandson Canon Dorsey.

She is survived by her daughter Patsy Witschi and husband Darryl, daughter Melisa Wheeler, daughter Barbara Dorsey and husband Carl, son Justin Nix and wife Tamara, and son Matthew Nix; brother Butch McFaul, sister Debbie McFaul, Becky Conner; 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
