Vicky Rene Baker, 49 year old resident of Fargo, Oklahoma, passed from this life on June 14, 2014 at her home in Fargo. She was born January 27, 1965, to Eugene and Lucy (Bell) Shepherd in Woodward, Oklahoma. She attended school at the Shattuck Christian Academy from 1970 to 1980. Vicky attended South Western Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma from 1990 to 1994 and then attended High Plains Technology Center in Woodward, Oklahoma from 2000 to 2001. Vicky then worked as nurse with the long term care program.
In 1975 Vicky was baptized as a child in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Woodward, Oklahoma and was a member of the Church as well. On September 21, 2004 Vicky married James Baker in Lipscomb, Texas. There were five children between the two of them: three daughters Felicia Morris, Tracie Thompson and Stacey Johnson, and two sons Melvin and James Baker. They made their home in Fargo, Oklahoma.
Vicky "Grandma Gippy" enjoyed spending time with her family. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother; any child she ever spent time with became one of her own. Vicky was a hard working and dedicated nurse who poured her heart into her work.
Vicky is survived by husband James of the home; father Eugene Shepherd and wife Mona Lee of Flora Vista, New Mexico; mother Lucy Scott and husband Neal of Harrah, Oklahoma; three daughters Felicia Morris and husband Jack of Edmond, Oklahoma, Tracie Thompson and husband Gabe of Antler, North Dakota, and Stacey Johnson and husband Trent of Mohall, North Dakota; two sons Melvin Baker and wife Sherrie of Fargo, Oklahoma and James Baker and wife Jess of Minot, North Dakota; two brothers Ron McDaniel and wife Michelle of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Curt Shepherd and wife Shelley of Canton, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren, several aunts and uncles and a host of family and friends.
